Foe, the winner of the Nobel Prize for literature in 1997, had been suffering lung problems for months and was hospitalized for 12 days, the media reported.

His death provoked an outpouring of grief among globally renowned media, literary, and political figures.

Born in March 26, 1926 in Italy, Fo was an actor, playwright, comedian, singer, theatre director, stage designer, songwriter and painter.

The renowned playwright started his studies in Milan in Art but later turned to architecture.

During his professional life, Fo tried various fields, including acting, singing, producing radio shows and painting.

Fo died on October 13, 2016 at the age of 90.
